Commandos Strike Force Demo Review

21 March 2006 One Comment

This is another World War 2 based shooter from Pyro Studies , the same team who gave us the Commando series but this time instead of making the game a strategy one , they made a First Person Shooter . And The results are not good .

The demo lets you play a single mission in which you have to assist a norweign force in securing a German Dock . You get to play as a green beret or as a Sniper .  The graphics of the game are good , with some beautifully rendered scene and some good human animation ( shoot an enemy and see him falling from a terrace ) . The models and Weapons have been detailed well. The fire and explosion effects are also nice .

But the AI of the game is pathetic . Ocassionaly you will se an enemy soldier running at you from long distance instead of shooting you , so you get plenty of time to kill him . The gameplay looks decent , the weapons behavior is accurate enough . I really liked playing as a sniper , it is really cool .  A radar is also provided which points towards your objective and also points out enemies when they are close enough  .

The sound of the game is good . The weapon sound is also realistic  .

Anyways but arent we seeing enough World War 2 games nowdays which are better than this . I think instead of making it a FPS , they should have sticked with there previous versions which were a success.
