Why do we hate Microsoft
Well , I have visited many blogs and sites and in many of them i have noticed that they “love to hate Microsoft ” but why ? . Microsoft have come under criticism from its early days whether its deserves or not . A recent survey conducted by Forrester stated that Microsoft comes last on the brands people trust .Even when Vista was delayed , Microsoft was criticized . Around 90% of us use the windows operating system , microsoft office , Media Players etc . When ever someone buys a computer and switch it on , the first thing they see is the Microsoft Logo . We all love Windows XP or 98 but still whenever a flaw is discoverd we are the first to criticise . Linux has also become popular these days but i know a few people who have completely shifted to Linux .
The main reason is feel is because of the monopoly of the company . We use there product whether we like it or not because of monopoly . Some say they dont deliver what they promise . Many feel there products are overpriced but assuming most of us rarely buys original product that doesnt seem a logical issue . Many claim there products are a mix of what others have done . but what is the wrong in improving upon something that the others have done . I dont think any software we see today is completely pure . It is the nature of Engineering , the only diffrence is that some people know how to make money doing it .
So why do we hate Microsoft ? because of the big monopolies ? because of the error messages , because of Blue Screen Of Death ? .If Linux is that cool , why dont most of us use it . And if we are not using it ourself our finding it difficult to use , why do we say it is better than Windows . About the error messages , it is all about how you can keep you PC healthy or how do you maintain it . I am a Happy Windows User .
Well i am not against Linux or anyone else , but i sometimes feel that the criticism which Microsoft receives is quite harsh .

Microsoft is not critisized mostly for it’s software flaws and security holes. I’ve seen many bad software that MS products. But it’s been critisized for it’s business politics and strategies. The way it consider customers. I hate MS products for the simple reason that they sell proprietary software.
In simple terms, I’m not allowed to share my pen with my friend, if I bought it from MS. I’m not allowed to use that pen in more than one note book. I’m are not allowed to change the refill of the pen, once emptied. I’ve to bought another pen, from MS only. And I’m not the owner of the PEN, even though I paid for it.
“We all love Windows XP or 98″
I stopped reading right there. Ubuntu for life.
I agree with your analysis, though I still don’t trust msoft. Yes, I use Windows, but it’s always fully patched up, and almost never trusted alone..
I’m also trying to winxp-pro-64bit right now, let’s see how ti goes.
I hate microsft for the simple reason that they have terrible buissenss practices. It is facing antitrust suits for the very same reason. Also i feel the same things Riyaz Usman
An interesting study would be: “Do Microsoft haters spell worse than Microsoft lovers?”
Screw the detractors. If it wasn’t for Microsoft none of the script kiddies would have a PC in their homes for them to install Linux on. More here: http://pentasyllabic.blogspot.com
You are right there Luke
I hate microsoft for some reasons.
first: it doesnt give us the source code so we can optimize it as we need
second: lots ofvirus and spams
third: BSOD(Blue Screen of Death)
forth: Products are very very costly and if u add the supporting costs like office, antivirous and others the cost is really high
fifth: newer versions of microsoft products(like vista) needs high end hardwares where most modern linux versions work fine with lower end hardwares.
and BTW why not everybody uses linux is not because microsoft is better. It is because people are lazy to change their way of computing. some has fear that they can’t do some work in linux that they can do in windows. more than 70% of the servers have shifted to Linux. Do u think they are fool? linux is far more secure. more than 90% of supercomputers have linux operating system. and another thing is that it is very hard to know how many are really using linux as it is free and u dont have to register to use it. so the total number is far more than what is known.
Microsoft deserves criticism, they make such crappy software it could make anybody insane, come on people Microsoft is a place of business and a monopoly, that is mostly interested in big profits and sell software that is overly priced. I myself absolutely love Linux, it never fails to impress me but because certain activities require Windows, I’m stuck with it. Windows XP is the last Windows operating system I WILL EVER BUY, and for a good reason, Microsoft has already shown what a pain in the butt it can be with Product activation and more recently WGA (Windows Genuine Advantage) that spies your activities by “phoning home” each time you boot your PC, and unfortunately because of this little bastard my PC runs very slow at boot up and some times takes about three minutes to fully get everything working. And another thing, Windows Vista had DRM in it, and I try to stay away from software that contains DRM, not that I illegally pirate music or videos but DRM is a nuisance when something I’m watching or listening to might not make Windows happy, therefor Windows Vista is the just more bullshit.
And lets mention about it’s vague error messages that require you to be a computer whiz to know what they mean, come on. Oh and what about those silly pop ups that annoy you when you are trying to work (not ad pop ups) on the system tray, I absolutely can’t stand this and there is now way to get rid of that. Microsoft has simply made the GUI more complicated by putting all these “features” that get in your way, thats why I hate Windows. And what about if something breaks in Windows, you’re forced to re-install the whole operating system and loose all your work and make an expensive call to Microsoft support that costs hundreds!, and lets not mention about security, what a nightmare that is. And yet people still use Windows?
