I have a 3.5″ SATA Sharkoon ext. HDD. Whenever I connected it to my laptop, it worked fine. Suddenly, when I connect it, it says “The disk in drive G is not formatted. Would you like to format it now?”. I already formatted it long ago and I have a LOT of important data on that ext. HDD. Can anyone help me? ):

I recently faced a problem similar to you I was having windows 7 & it got stuck with some error & my most important data was on C: some how i managed to recover my data & put on another partition using windows system repair. And installed a clean copy of windows 7 again the same problem came after 2 days. And this time I did my own R&D. I’m having 2 disk one of 500 GB and other of 80 GB. I noticed that the second drive which was of 80 GB was having windows boot drive which is somewhere 100 MB. I removed the drive & was trying to install on 500 GB which was having approx 300 GB of Data & 200 GB approx for my operating system now I have removed that drive formatted 200 GB & tried to install & it said no space for boot drive & it was not even giving me delete option. So, I inserted windows XP disk & in select boot drive I highlighted C: where windows was installed & deleted it & is it returned back to partition list it showed me un-partitioned drive & this gave me a terrible shock as i have installed n no. of times & n no. of different types of machine. Please help me out even I gave my disk to recovery center they said the hard disk is showing folders but not the data. I am completely pissed as there were imp photographs of my Family & Friends. Will definitely wait for your reply on this.

i was using my laptop but suddenly i lost everything from my hard disk please help me what can i do to bring all my photos back. here in malta they can do nothing i have more data saved in it but i only need my photos and videos thanks. please notify me with your email.

hi! got to your blog searching the solution to the problem i m facing….

i was going ahead to formet my c: drive n reinstall windows. while selecting the space i wanted to merge the available 10 mb unused space in c: in the process.. the whole 40gb disc space became unpartitoned.. now as earlier win OS in also unbootable n the important data of the disk is far off reach…. what shuld i do… as after installing fresh windows i’ll loose everything.. plz help..

one can do data recovery by your self. Thats true. There is lots of data recovery software, tips and guide. Reading that you can try you data recovery.
