Fifa Vs Pro Evolution Soccer
I am absolutely crazy about Football games . Hardly i day goes by when i dont play them . Now whenever we think of any soccer games , there are only two games that come to our mind and that is “FIFA” by EA Sports and “Pro Evolution Soccer or Winning Eleven” by Konami . Ofcouse i am not mentioning “Football Manager” or “Fifa Manager” as they are more management oriented . Here i will discuss the various features of the games …..the thoughts expressed are my opinion only .
My tryst started with soccer games when i first got hold of FIFA 2001 . I was very much impressed by thr gameplay and the graphics which was very well considering that time . The game was followed by FIFA 02 , 03 , 04 , 05 etc . Each game proved to be much better than its predecessor in terms of Gameplay , graphics , commentary and i spent hours playing each one of them . But at that time i hadnt heard of Konami Pro Evo SOccer as at that time it was mainly available for the consoles and even the gaming industry was almost entirely monopolized by FIFA . But around 2 years back , i got a chance to try out the demo of PRO EVO SOCCER 4 and beleive me i forgot FIFA from that day . The gameplay which PRO EVo SOCCER offered was way much better than that of FIFA . The player’s movement were damn realistic ,the flexibility in the game play , graphics which i found better than FIFA etc got me hooked . The game improved with Pro Evo Soccer 5 whereas i found that EA didnt give much attention to FIFA as there recent releases FIFA 06 and FIFA WOrld CUP 06 …..even FIFA 05 was lot better than them . Now Lets take a look at some comparsion points between the two .
THE BATTLE
1-> Graphics wise FIFA seemed to be doing well with each release until they released FIFA World Cup 06 ….the graphics of latest installment is damn bad compared to the level of graphics we have in the Games of today . Pro Evolution Soccer on the other hand offers much realistic modeled characters which are as equivalent to there real life counter parts . Even the Stadiums are beautifully rendered .
2-> FIFA wins by a large margin when it comes to Licensed teams and tournaments . They got license for almost all the teams in the World and you can even play in all the major leagues in the World . PES 5 lacks in this respect but i think that will change when there next installement comes out .
3 ->The League system of FIFA is also lot better than that of PES 5 . You got a carrear mode which is just great and you have little bit of management involved in it too , you can even buy and sell players just like real life managers do , you have to meet the expectations of the board othewise you can be sacked . PES occurs a Master League Mode where some amount of trading and training is involved but i dont think that it can match FIFA as of now .
4-> Commetary wise i cant say much but i find FIFA to be much better .
5 ->But the most important thing is the gameplay and in this regard PES is much better than FIFA . In Fifa the game play is quite good but it tends to get boring after a while as you score almost the same type of goal every time and you can even make a player run all the way from your half and score a goal . But such is not the case with PES . The gameplay is much more realistic than FIFA , even the goal scoring ways are so much diffrent everytime you score . The controls of PES are also amazing and offers you to do a variety of things with the ball ( harder to master ).
Overall i find PES much better than FIFA , there are a lot of people who find FIFA better but i think many of them havent given PES a try , do try it and beleive me you will get hooked .

YEA I JUST WANNA SAY THAT I USED TO BE A FIFA FAN UNTIL I PLAYED PES 3 AND ANY FIFA FAN WHO THINKS FIFAS BETTER BUT HASENT PLAYED PES SHOULD ONE AND U WILL SEE IM RIGHT

Anybody who has played football at any level must agree that pro evolutions game play is very true to life. Tactics and skill are required. The variety of play and goals are fantastic.
Never played Fifa and never will. pro evolution is too damned good to go fooling with any other game.
If it aint broke dont replace it.

Id just like to say that i have been playing both of these games for a very long time and i have to say that
i use to love fifa, and play wneva i could, then i heard all this hype about pes, so i decided id play pes6
for 1 month, everyday, for a couple hours, by the 5th day of play i was already on 6 stars and winning games
in master league against opponents such as chelsea, barcelona, ac milan, with scores like 6-0 5-0 and 1 match
against ac milan 9-1, it is just to easy to beat the keeper, u can get a through ball and just run at an angle
and shoot, and nearly every time it will go in without a doubt, i was very annoyed with the low level of
managering mode, how the leagues are structured, and how the transfer system lets u do watever u practicaly want.
Fifa 07, wat a game, more realistic than any other fifa, u should all try, oh fifa, were would i go without this,
i will admit that on the settings like semi-pro, it is the same type of goals every game, but wen u turn it up to
world class, u do not win 6-0 7-0, it is very difficult to go against a top team and not concede and end up having
to pull sumthing out of ur ass to win, the keepers are so much better wen on world class difficulty to anything
that pes offers, and the shooting and passing is more realistic, if u have a 30 yard craker, it may not go in but
sumtimes the keeper will get a slite hand onto it and it will rebound into the post and go in, just like real life,
u cannot just run at a keeper and shoot like in pes, u have to find sum way to outhink the keeper or have a realy
sweet shot hit the tightest angle or the keeper may make a crucial fumble, JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE, the managering
mode is so much better, with real transfer budgets and proper wage structures, offering new contracts that can
affect the players morale, having team work, were wen the team plays together for a long time they get a higher
rating and gel together and play better, like real life, the player growth rate in fifa 07, shows the excpected
outcome of players with there natural grwoth over the years. the leagues are so much better structured than pes,
fifa 07, u play in the premier league, ur players have a big game against tottenham, the sum go away for international
friendly, they cum back and u have a carling cup match, then only 3 days later u have another epl match with a
champions league semi-final 3 days later, just like real life, u DONT SEE THAT IN PES, all u get is sum choices
of wat u play, like for sum who chose to play the epl, u have 38 gameweeks of 38 matches, and no other cup mathces,
weres the fun wen u have ur epl side playing in the league, then travel away for a champions league quater final
against real madrid, u dnt get that with pes, and people who say fifa is not realistic gameplay, maybe u should
try playing the game for a while and turn it on to world class, and then ul see wen u cum up to world class strikers
that they punish u if u make a defensive mistake, and defenders who if u run the ball ahead to far, will take it and
clear the ball, and maybe if u learnt how to play the game better and not just run straight at a player on ammeture
difficulty because u have been playing pes for so long ad just want to get over with playing fifa, but if u actualy
played for a while and got to world class, u would see that u have to think like u do wen in real life, and make play,
draw a defender while sending another on a run down the wing for a through ball and then a low cross along the ground
in front of the defenders for a low tap in to beat thte keeper at the far post.
PEShas it qualitites, but the only thing that people ever say is better than fifa is its gameplay, but fifa absolutely
owns it in everything else, and if people actuly bothered to get up to world class with fifa, then theyd see its not
the same goal every match, and also, football is not just about the gameplay, it is about hte experience of being able
to manage ur team, play in proper leagues, with cup matches, and also being able to buy players, but not by just going,
i want that player, done, like in pes, but in fifa, actual wage structures, were if u dnt manage ur team properly, then
ur sponsor money wont be able to get u out of the red after the players wages have been made, and upgrading staff and
ur stadium so u can fit in more fans and bring in an increased revenue of ticket sales.
FIFA is better than PES, u just have to realise that if u try fifa, it doesnt just start on semi-pro and the same goals,
it actualy goes on to harder difficulties and harder keepers and u have to think of how u are going to score.
you should all try fifa 07, it has been improved so much from fifa 06 for all use that will judge fifa 07 from its previous versions

Well written , i know PES has its flaws genrally due to its lack lustre Master League Mode , but the main thing to consider is the gameplay , unless it is not realistic , you cannot enjoy the game . FIFA 07 has improved but i still dont think it matches the gameplay of PES . And lets wait till PES 6 comes out .
In my opinion Fifa took the lead during the early days with Fifa Internation Soccer. Progression through ISS over came this and from here PES become better and has created a bigger and bigger gap in terms of gameplay, and fifa has never been able to catch up. Now this is where it changes because the next-gen version of fifa on the xbox is built on a whole new data driven physics engine which gives a completley different gameplay which is much more realistic than anything seen before. I don’t know if this is the case for the ps2 etc versions as I don’t think this physics engine has been incorporated into them but as it stands I feel that if you have an xbox360 your best bet will be fifa07 anything else PES6, however if your not playing the new fifa you will be missing out… that just leaves the new PES6 to prove me wrong…
used to love fifa, and still do to an extent. i get pro and my brother gets fifa, so there is always an argument o which is better. we both generally agree that both games are fun to play and that we have had some serious battles with each other. i like pro because it is more fun to play, with more realistic gameplay. fifa has a better manager mode, but pro’s isn’t rubbish, its just not as good. this years fifa truly is awesome. it has had a total overhaul in gameplay and ball physics, and i have been playng it non stop. i just hope pro is as good as it ever is to make my life perfect. getting drunk with my mates, not doing coursework, and playing pro into the early hours of the next day. fifa is good, but my heart will always lie with pro. can’t wait for the 27th of october, having a piss up at a mates house to test drive pro.
