Some of the new features are

  • Keep conversations organized by dragging and dropping them into one tabbed window
  • Flexible Interface which can be changed instantly
  • New Emotions , alert sounds
  • Automatic group creation in contact list based on interest.
  • The interface looks a lot nicer than the previous versions and some coll features are also being added . Lets hope they release something similar for XP users too .

    1. The UI looks cool. But I hope they first improve its functionality. Yahoo messengers sucks big time while connecting through proxy. My institute uses HTTP proxy. Every now and then I have trouble sending IMs. Sometimes i don’t receive messages but the other person doesn’t know that because they still show in the window! This is just one of the hitches.

    5. Quite nifty. Too bad I won’t be upgrading to Vista any time soon. XP would be the last Windows OS I’ll be using at home, we have our Ubuntu Linux and mac Mini instead. ;)
