Tag your mp3 using mp3Tag

10 July 2007 8 Comments

Everyone who likes listening to music must be having a huge collection of mp3 songs . Organizing them can be a frustating task as most of them are labelled such as 01.mp3 , 02.mp3 etc . Even trying to tag them manually will require a lot of time which we dont have . This is where mp3Tag comes in use .

mp3Tag is an easy to use software that allows us to view and edit tags of mp3 , mp4 , wav , wma , aac etc files.  We can use it to edit an add tags to several files simaltaneously . Apart from this it can also be used to save lyrics and pictures inside mp3 files . It can even search the net for required lyrics and pictures . It also has an automatic tag filling option which takes the track length and compares this data to FreeDB database to find the appropriate album the file belongs . It can also be used to generate playlists for Windows Media Player and Winamp .

Some of its key features are

  • View and edit information saved in tags
  • Save lyrics and pictures in files
  • Search the internet for lyrics
  • Quick rename group of files so that new names will be created from part of tags
  • Generate tags using part of file/folder name
  • Import tags from Amazon
  • Lots more

The interface of the software is also simple and easy to use . But the bad thing is that  it is a shareware . It can be used for 30 days in trial version . Do try it out and let me know whether you like it or not . Do tell us which software do you use to organize your music files ?
