Google mobile SMS

Google has launched an SMS service for mobile users in India which gives them the ability to access Google Search even if they dont have an Internet enabled phone. The service is at its beta stage and to use the service we have to send a text message to “54664″.

The service will enable the mobile users to have an entire list of local services such as movie timings , restaurant details , business listings , taxi services at there disposal . For example , to know about a place in south delhi which serves pizzas , you just have to type “pizza south delhi” and sms it to the above mentioned number. In few seconds you will get an entire list of pizza joints in south delhi.  Currently the service is available to all Airtel , BPL , BSNL and Reliance subscribers in Bangalore , Hyderabad , Delhi and Mumbai .

Users will be charged as the carriers prescribed premium text messaging rates .
