XFX 8800 GT “Alpha Dog ” Edition launched

XFX 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition

The worst thing about Computer Peripherals is that they get outdated very quickly. A few months agobought a new XFX Geforce 8600 GT graphics card thinking that it would keep me happy for atleast a year but then XFX came out with there XFX 8800 GT Alpha Dog edition. Now i could on ranting about my misery but it would be better to tell you about the features of this new devil.

It has got a unique thermal fansink design that increases it core clock frequency from 600Mhz to 625 Mhz. This makes this card around 8 degrees cooler in 3d applications. The fan speed as well as Air flow has also been enhanced making the 8800 GT run cooler than other similar products.

The card is HDTV-, SLI-, HDCP- and RoHS-ready. It has 512MB of DDR3 RAM and has support for Dual Dual-Link DVI. It can support digital output of up to 2560×1600 on not one but two displays. Apart from the “Alpha Dog” Edition,  certain overclocked versions are also available in XXX and XT versions. It is available in India for around Rs 14000 + taxes. That means around $350. And i think the price will go down further in the coming months. A good investment for those who are serious gamers. And besides the card looks stylish too. What do you think?

    1. I’ve always wondered one thing. Why do Gfx card looks stylish? There are going to be inside the cabinet only, then how does looks matter? :D

    3. Yeah the 8800 Gt is a great card awesome value for its price.

Why do they look stylish? Well quite often gamers have windowed cases so they are visible.

You are right , in 1-2 months it will be below Rs 10000 and we might have a new card to replace that.
