Far Cry 2 technical update

6 January 2008 4 Comments

As you all know, Far Cry was one of the best tropical shooters of 2004. Currently Far Cry 2 is in development by UbiSoft. This time the game will be available for PS3 and XBOX 360 as well unlike Far Cry which was PC exclusive. PC Games Hardware extreme interviewed Ubisoft’s Dominic Guay and he revealed some technical info about the game.

Ubisoft has developed a brand new engine for the game which is called “Duniya” (a word which means World). The will not have the concept of “levels” and will have a open and dynamic environment. The game will take place in Africa and the ligthtning model of the game will be dynamic featuring day and night in real time. The game will have a RealTree system and will simulate the vegetation systems much more realistically. However to really enjoy the game you will need a multicore GPU system.
