Site Problems

30 January 2008 10 Comments

Yesterday one of my readers informed me that there was a problem with my site. When i opened my site, i learned that some tables of my site’s database has crashed. During that time, there was a problem displaying and posting comments on this blog and i apologize for that. I had no idea how this has happened. I have tried correcting the errors and the site appears to be working fine now. Although there are some strange problems. If anyone notices anything wrong, then do inform me. If anyone of you have faced such problem before, you can help me out by telling me what could have caused such a problem. I hope things will get back to normal in a few days time. I need your support during that period.

      Hey Madhur,

Did you upgrade your wordpress version recently? If you did then maybe it’s the plugins. I had similiar issues.

Looks like everything is working fine for now.

Looks fine already. Last time when I click on a link, the magical 404 number appears!

Madhur – I’m far from an expert when it comes to database stuff, but like mentioned above, did the problems coincide with an upgrade?

Plugins could be the problem, or the upgrade could have caused a problem. If you didn’t change anything in a day or two prior, then it may be something else.

I upgraded my wordpress a around a week back. I upgraded a few plugins and it was working fine till this happenned. I guess the problem was mainly due to the database overhead.

      Hmm..
      (1) Plugins
      or
      (2) Incomplete upgrade.

Anyway, good blog. Continue the good work.

I think we all have server problems and it could’ve been caused by your host, perhaps working on it.

15,000 hits in one day? Jeez, I’ve never come anywhere close to that!!!!

You must have a pretty decent webhost to not go down through all of that. I hit the front page of Digg once and my host cut the connection for using too many resources.

Btw tried to leave that comment before however I got a 500 internal error.
