Protect Your Files/Folders with My Lockbox

A few days ago I wrote about a software called Folder Encryption which enabled you to encrypt and protect your Folder. However, if you are looking for some simple protection for your folders, then My Lockbox is just the software for you.

My Lockbox

Once you lock the folder using this utility, it wont be visible to anyone. To view it, you will have to run the software, enter the password and unlock the folder. During the installation, it will ask you to enter the password and specify a “locker” folder which you want to protect. The interface is simple and easy to use. To lock a folder, just select it from a list or drag and drop it into the interface. The folder will not be visible even from MS Dos and will be hidden even to administrators.

One thing I don’t like about this is that it can Lock only a single folder at a time. But for those who keep there important files in a single location, this is very useful. The best thing is that it is also a freeware and is only 1.26 MB in size. Which other software’s do you use to protect your files and folders ?

    1. Hi, Madhur! :) Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. Why do you think you went from PR5 to PR0? Have you done paid reviews perhaps? I’ve heard of a lot of bloggers getting penalized by Google for that.

      I might have to give My Lockbox a try! :) Thanks for the info!

    2. If it can lock only one folder, does it lock a folder having multiple folders inside?

    4. @Tish
      I guess it was because of Paid Links

      @Nirmal
      Yes Nirmal, It will completely hide the folder along with all the files and folders inside it. By one folder, i meant that , if you want to lock another folder in another drive, it wont lock it unless you unlock the current one.

      I have tried FolderLock but i need to try HideXP.

    5. I wonder that if this works equally well on NTFS and Fat32? For now I am using TrueCrypt as it works pretty well for me. I will check out My Lockbox today.

    6. Is this software portable? I use my friends PC to work on some important files. I think I could use it to secure my data.
