Vista was a good operating system if you had two hard disk drives, and you saved everyhting to the spare drive. If you saved to the Vista hard disk many times you may find like I did that Vista "loses" files. Vista tells you that a file is not there, but if you try, say Nero, surprise, surprise, Nero can not only see the "missing" file but use it. Also it will save it to your spare hard disk drive. I hope that Windows 7 does not have the same problem. If it does, then it's back to Windows XP for the time being, until a new, robust, and most of all, reliable, Windows version is forthcoming. Hopefully it will come in my lifetime, I have only 75 years to go.

Ya windows vista failed due to its high hardware requirements, even a high config pc of 2005-06 had difficulty running it. WHats the point of such an OS, ppl arent goin to scrap their old pcs and buy new high end ones to support a loser OS like Vista.

I hope the next windows supports old configs as well if MS is looking for success.

If windows 7 is only in 64 bit version, i really doubt if it will have much success. 64 bit architecture is not much popular as of now, and the majority is not going to scrap their machines in 09 to support another MS blooper.

@Rajesh, Nirmal
Windows is indeed a user friendly OS. Lets see what more improvements can we see from the next version.

@Ankit
Vista had some great features but mainly failed due to its high hardware requirements. It will be interesting to see the hardware requirements of Windows 7

@Guruprasad
It was called Windows Vienna before but now it is called Windows 7
