[Windows Vista Tip] How to Open Command Prompt by Right Click Menu in Vista

5 June 2008 6 Comments

Normally when you have to open the command prompt in Vista, you have to do so by navigating the menu. There is a small trick using which you can open the command prompt just by right clicking.

To do so, hold down the “Shift” key and Right Click anywhere on the desktop. You will get a Menu like this

Vista

Just click on “Open Command Window Here” and command prompt will be displayed

Vista1

You can also perform the same operation inside a folder or by right clicking on the folder while holding the Shift key. The advantage is that the “Command Prompt” will now point to to directory from where you have opened it. It will certainly save time instead of using “Cd..” or “Cd Directory name” . How do you find this trick ?
