How to Surf Websites in Office

5 August 2008 13 Comments

You have to be very careful if you want to surf the net in the your office as you might get on the wrong side of your boss if you are caught surfing Orkut, Youtube etc in Office. Sometimes you don’t even want your co workers to find out what your doing.

Vanishd

Vanishd is here to make your life easier. Without any download required, the web page which you will visit will be camouflaged by any other web page or some fake Office documents. The Website will be covered and you will be able to view it through a small cut out window. If you move the mouse off the browser window or right-click, this will instantly hide the viewing window and leaves only the appropriate page visible.

It will also add a button to your first window using which you will be able to access the small cut out window. You can also move the cut out window through the mouse and can even resize it by using your mouse wheel. You can interact with the hidden window through the click of a mouse which will switch you to interactive mode.

It currently works with IE, Safari and Firefox 2. Firefox 3 is only available in experimental mode. It is a good way to view your private web sites in office being safe from boss and co workers. But the question is, will people like to view a Website through a small window ?
