Free Audio Converter CS

Free Audio Converter CS is a free audio encoder and converter that supports various formats. If you are looking for a decent converter to convert your music files between different format, then this might satisfy your requirements. It can convert between mp3, mp4/m4a, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC etc files.

It can also convert your Audio CDs to mp3 or Ogg Vorbis formats. It offers support for CDDB/freedb online CD database and CDText and automatically writes song information to ID3V2 or Vorbis comment tags. You can convert audio files one at a time or can even convert files in batch or by selecting a directory. The time taken to convert a file is pretty quick and the quality is good. The interface does look a bit outdated.

Do try this if you are looking for a decent and free converter. It can run in XP and Vista.
