Arrange Desktop Windows Dynamically with Desklayer

Desklayer

One thing that Windows lacks is the ability to automatically order the windows which we have opened on the desktop. There are limited options to arrange windows on the desktop in cascade and tile modes. Desklayer is a windows manager that enables you to work with Windows that you have opened on the windows desktop. It is a result of a thesis work by a student and is currently in beta version and does contain a few bugs.

Desklayer offers Border and Grid Layout for windows management. It can even dynamically resize and arrange the windows on the desktop so that maximum space is utilized. In case you close or resize a window, the layout will be rearranged automatically. In Border layout mode, you can move the window from and to all sides of the layout. You even have the option of restoring the windows to there previous positions before you changed it with Desklayer. You will need some time to get used to its working and arrangement.

Since it was part of a thesis work, it does have a few bugs and errors. But the developer plans to fix it in the later versions. Do give it a try and see if you like it or not.
