bonkenc-1.0-en

BonkEnc is a CD ripper, audio converter as well as an encoder and it supports a lot of formats like MP3, MP4 / M4A, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, Bonk and FLAC files. You can use it to convert between your audio files or rip audio files from an Audio CD.

It can easily convert your Audio CDs to MP3 or Ogg Vorbis format or any other format as required. It also communicates with CDDB/freedb online database thus ensuring that all the album and track information is present in your ripped songs. I tried it with an Audio CD and it did a great job of ripping it. The interface is simple. It also has some advanced feature which are suitable for advanced encoding for audio.

It is a nice and free program which has some nice features which you find in paid software.

I think I will try this one out. I don’t have itunes on this machine and need a decent ripper. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing, it looks a great tool – I’ve been getting frustrated with itunes throwing a wobbly at me everytime I try and import something in an ‘unusual’ format!
