SurF – Easy to use File Manager with Tree Tabs

A good file manager will always make your work a lot easier. SurF is a free and quite innovative file manager that shows organized tabs in a tree form which allows you to work with multiple folders simultaneously. Along with that, it also offers a lot of features like drag ‘n’ drop support, QuickPath, Dynamic directories size analysis and much more.

It also allows you to view files by size and by time and size view dynamically calculates subdirectories size and sorts them by size on disk also taking into account NTFS compression, NTFS sparse files and disk cluster size. Users can also group files based on there extension. It also provides quick access to standard file management features such as delete, copy, rename. All the options can also be accessed via the right click menu. It also offers a search feature and an advanced full text search finds information in all kind of files. It also highlights new and changed files in real time for a brief second. It also offers Network support and keyboard hotkeys.


A nice and innovative file manager. It works on Windows XP/2003/Vista and Windows 7 and requires .Net Framework 2.

      I think the tree interface has been created keeping techical person’s view in the mind or a technical person would have created that. It simpy lacks basic UI, looks more in a technical perspective rather in basic UI.
