Nero is the name which comes to mind when we think of CD/DVD burning. Mostly Nero comes bundled with out CD/DVD drives but the latest version of Nero is also resource intensive. There are other free alternatives which can perform as well as Nero and also consume less resource and space. Here are the 10 applications which you can use to burn CD/DVD/Blu Ray discs.

1) ImgBurn

      There was an interest in what Linux software options are available, well we have to look at what interface types are being used. The main ones to my knowledge are:

      KDE/KDE4 – K3B (Open-Source, Standard for many of the distros defaulting to KDE)
      Gnome – GnomeToaster (Open-Source)
      X – XCDRoast (Open-Source)
      Nero – Nero 4 (Commercial)

      My preference is in fact K3B, very easy to learn interface with a gambit of options as well.

      My 2 cents worth.
