Rename Master is a free utility for renaming large groups of files with a few clicks. It can help you a lot in renaming names and extensions of multiple files at once. It can deal with file of any type, any size and anywhere in the computer. The program comes with a lot of configuration options which can save you a lot of time while dealing with a lot of files especially images from a digital camera.

The interface is plain and simple. You can perform simple file renaming or advanced file renaming. Users can add any character they want in the name of the original file in any part or the file name can also be rearranged by changing the position of different parts. It contains several meta variables that allows you to perform renaming based on file size, date and several other criteria. You can even save renaming options as scripts so that they can be reused later. You can even preview the files to be renamed before you actually make the changes. If two files are getting the same name, they will be marked in red so you know what to fix.

Overall, it does a great job in renaming files and it does it very fast. It is a freeware and works on all the version of Windows.
