Launch Applications in Windows using Sliderdock

27 March 2009 One Comment

Sliderdock

Sliderdock is a free application launcher for Windows that lets you launch your Windows program quickly by rotating between them. So instead of searching for a particular icon, you can make the icons come to you by rotating the mouse wheel.

On running the application, you will see a blue orb button the desktop. You can drag and drop all your program shortcuts on this Blue Orb and they will be added to this application launcher and will be visible in a circular format. You can then move your mouse pointer over the Orb and move the mouse wheel up/down to rotate between these programs. If you want to open any program, just double click on that icon and the program will start. You can also Show/Hide Sliderdock by using a hotkey so that it is not always visible on the Desktop. To remove a program from the launcher, just bring it into the orb by moving the mouse wheel, then right click on it and select “Remove”. You can also configure it by modifying the themes, ring size, icon size and icon rotation. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to rotate the icons clockwise/ counter clockwise or launching the programs.

You can also try other similar Dock application like Rocket Dock, Circle Dock. It is a freeware and runs on Windows XP/Vista/7. It requires .Net Framework 3.5 SP1.
