Winyl – Simple Audio Player with Music Library

24 April 2009 One Comment

If you are a music lover and tired of music players like Windows Media Player, Winamp etc that take a long time to start and also have high resource usage, then you should try out Winyl. Winyl is a free Audio Player which has a skinnable interface and low resource usage.

It is quite fast compared to other audio players and it also offers new ways to organize and enjoy music. It comes with a media library which can automatically organize your songs into categories so that they are easier to find and play. All this is done on the basis of information contained in the tags. Apart from the basic playback functions, it also lets you rate the songs and create playlists. It also has an equalizer and it also displays the album art. You can also customize it with a lot of skins. It also has a Last.fm feature which works if you have the last.fm client installed. The interface of the program is very basic and simple.

If you are looking for a very basic audio player with only essential features, this is a good choice. It is a freeware and works on Windows.
