UltraExplorer is a Nice Windows Explorer Alternative

7 August 2009 No Comment

UltraExplorer is a very good Windows Explorer alternative. It has been designed to be the ultimate File Manager for Microsoft Windows. It provides some nice features as compared to the default Windows Explorer. It may take sometime to get used to the interface but once you do, you will find it quite and a good replacement.

The interface of the program can be customized fully ranging from the the toolbar menu to buttons and icons. You can hide and show any of the 17 toolbars and 9 windows that come with the program based on your liking and requirements. Some of its key features include

  • It has a Drop Stack Window and you can drop blocks of files into the drop stack for quick access later
  • The Favourite Windows allows you to build a favourites tree with any object you like from the shell.  The tree is fully aware of drag and drop and the clipboard
  • It has a built in command line window that stays synced with the current view of the application
  • The History Windows contains User defined level of previously browsed folder
  • Tabbed Folders
  • many more

The program consumed around 3-4 MB of memory while running. It is a very good replacement for Windows Explorer with good features. It is a freeware and runs on Windows.
