View Installed Services and Drivers with ServiWin

15 September 2009 2 Comments

ServiWin is a free utility that displays the list of installed drivers and services on your system. Like all other utilities from Nirsoft, this one is small in size and easy to use. Along with the list of installed drivers, it also displays additional useful information such as file description, version, product name, company that created the driver file, and much more.

The utility is a standalone executable and requires no installation. When you run it, a main window opens which displays a list of all drivers and services. You can easily stop, start, restart, pause, and continue service or driver if you want. You can even select one or more drivers or services from the list, and then change their status or their start up type (Automatic, Manual, Disabled, Boot, or System). You can also save the selected items to text or HTML file or copy this information to the clipboard. The utility is meant for advanced users and you should be careful before starting or stopping any service. You can also use it to connect it to another Computer on LAN and view the other’s list of services and drivers. The program also has command line options that you can work with.

The program is a freeware and runs on Windows 2000/NT/XP/Server/Vista/7.

Sometimes we need to disable some of the services to get maximum performance from system. If any utility to optimize the services which are not required will be helpful. Nice info anyways.

It is very useful for the system running short in memory or two slow due to different type of software installation. I wonder, if it can catch spywares as well.
