Manage Windows 7 Context Menu with Right Click Extender

3 March 2010 10 Comments

Right Click Extender is a freeware which allows you to add or remove items from your right click windows menu. You would have noticed that there are several option present in Windows right click menu that you hardly use. Besides, you may also be using some features which may not be present there. Right Click Extender allows you to manage and edit the right click context menu according to your liking.

The UI of the program is very simple and is divided into two panels. One for “File and Folder” right click and the other for “Desktop” right click. You can add and remove several useful options like Copy To, Move To, Hide/Unhide file, Encrypt/Decrypt file, Take Ownership etc. It can also create a menu item for `God Mode`, a hidden Windows 7 feature which allows quick access to all Control Panel options. Just select the options which you want and click ‘apply’.

The program requires no installation and can be run directly. It is a freeware and works on Windows 7 as well as Windows Vista.

GREAT!! I was looking around for a good Windows 7 compatible option for adding the ‘Admin command prompt’ since Microsoft’s ‘Command Prompt Here’ no longer works with Vista/XP and couldn’t find a good alternative. Only thing I found was the built-in SHIFT-RIGHT-CLICK option in Windows 7 (and Vista I think) which is fairly inconvienent when you have to drop to Dos a decent bit (and being a System Admin I do).

Coming from this background, I have been pleased to discover over the past several days that Microsoft appears to have built on Vista’s strengths and addressed most of its weaknesses with the beta release of Windows 7.

PC maintenance is an important operation. Hard disk cleanup is important if you want to keep the PC in optimal condition. So on regular basis it is an important to run the disk cleanup utility program. The problem is that just by running the PC, it will bring on many trash files to your PC.
