Some of the times when the match is not being shown on the TV or when I want to work simultaneously while watching these matches, I prefer to watch them online. I don’t have to install any software and there are 3 websites which I prefer.

Ustream.tv – It is a website which allows you to stream or broadcast live video for free. So when live matches are going on, you will find many users who are broadcasting the EPL, Champions League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga matches. Just search for match or a team name and you will find various streams.

Justin.tv – It is also a similar site like Ustream.tv . Here you just have to visit the “Sports” section and you will find various live streaming of matches going on. The streams of justin.tv may take some 5-10 minutes while loading.

IraqGoals – This website will contain embedded links to the matches which are being broadcasted through the above mentioned two sites. It does not host any streaming video but it will save you a lot of searching time. Just visit the time and you will get a schedule telling which match links are going to be embedded there.

MyP2P.eu – This is another great site where you will find links to almost all the football matches going around the globe. Here you can also find sopcast links also. Thanks to Kim for telling about this.

How to Remove NewFolder.exe Virus http://www.whoismadhur.com/2009/03/04/how-to-remove-newfolderexe-virus/ http://www.whoismadhur.com/2009/03/04/how-to-remove-newfolderexe-virus/#comments Wed, 04 Mar 2009 09:24:50 +0000 http://www.whoismadhur.com/?p=2341 NewFolder.exe is one of the most irritating virus that you will ever come across. It mainly infects through the Pen Drive and once it does, it will create exe files resembling the name of all your folders. If your folder has name “docs”, it will create the file ‘Docs.exe’ and similar files for all your folders. In the worst case, it can even disable your task manger, Folder Options, RegEdit etc.

It will have names like NewFolder.exe or regsvr.exe. Luckily, its removal tools are available . Download it from here. I tried the download tool and it was successfully able to remove the NewFolder.exe virus from my computer and even the USB drive. After you download the ComboFix.exe, run it in safe mode. Some antivirus may detect the removal tool as a virus but it is perfectly safe. ComboFix will run for around 5-10 minutes, it will also create a restore point and might restart the computer if needed. Keep your USB drive connected to Computer if that is also infected. After ComboFix has finished executing, you will see the list of files, it has removed. In most cases, the virus should be gone from the PC along with the USB drive.

To try to remove it manually, here is what you can do

  1. Delete the Autorun.inf and other suspicious exe files from your pen drive using this method.
  2. Open Windows Task Scheduler or go to Control Panel –>Scheduled tasks and remove any suspicious task
  3. Click on Start –> run and type –> ‘msconfig’. In the startup tab, find entries like “NewFolder.exe” or “regsvr.exe” and uncheck them.
  4. Open Task Manager. In the processes tab, delete any process with the name of NewFolder.exe or regsvr.exe
  5. Open Registry by typing ‘Regedit’ in the Run command box. Please take a backup of the registry before proceeding. Now search for “regsvr.exe” and “Newfolder.exe” . If you find any entries, delete them. Please delete the entries having the exact name as “regsvr.exe” and not anything else. If that is appended with other entries, delete its occurrence only and not the whole thing.
  6. Restart the Computer

I hope this solves your problem.

How to download Blocked files in Office http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/12/30/how-to-download-blocked-files-in-office/ http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/12/30/how-to-download-blocked-files-in-office/#comments Tue, 30 Dec 2008 10:22:57 +0000 http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/12/30/how-to-download-blocked-files-in-office/ Earlier I told you about How to surf Websites in Office. This time i have another cool trick. Many a times when you use the Internet in Office or college, you will be behind a proxy and sometime you won’t be allowed to access some specific file extensions. Download At Work is a nice web service which will help you in downloading the file.

To use it simply open the web page, insert the URL of the file you wish to download in the text box and select the extension with which it should be renamed. Then press the ‘ Do it’ button. The file will be downloaded to there Server and you can download the file from there with the changed extension. After downloading the file to your computer, just change its extension back to the original and Enjoy.

That’s not all, you can even use it to access some blocked web pages. Just paste the URL and select the Doc or PDF extension. The web page will then be available Offline. Though it won’t help you in accessing Orkut or Facebook, you can certainly view some web pages.

How To View the Contents of Zip/Rar file before Downloading http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/12/11/how-to-view-the-contents-of-ziprar-file-before-downloading/ http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/12/11/how-to-view-the-contents-of-ziprar-file-before-downloading/#comments Thu, 11 Dec 2008 11:33:22 +0000 http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/12/11/how-to-view-the-contents-of-ziprar-file-before-downloading/ archview-499x331

Most of the files we download from the Internet are in Zip or Rar format. We wouldn’t like if we download an archive to find that the file we are looking for is not there. And it is also such a waste of Bandwidth and time to download a whole archive just for a single file. Archview is a Firefox addon that lets you preview the contents of an Archive before downloading. And using it you can even download a single file from the archive.

Currently it supports only RAR, ZIP and ISO format but that should be enough as they are the 2 most popular and common formats being used today. Archview adds itself to the stats bar and becomes active when the user clicks on a zip or rar link. It displays the contents almost instantly and presents the files of the archive in an XML or HTML interface. And what’s more, it even lets you download individual files for an archive, now no need to download a 10 MB archive for a file of 100 Kb that is inside.

The future version will also add support for the 7z format. It supports Firefox 2 and Firefox 3. It is definitely a great add on that can save you a lot of bandwidth.

Surf Websites in Office with GhostZilla http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/11/05/surf-websites-in-office-with-ghostzilla/ http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/11/05/surf-websites-in-office-with-ghostzilla/#comments Wed, 05 Nov 2008 09:37:47 +0000 http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/11/05/surf-websites-in-office-with-ghostzilla/ You have to be careful when you surf websites in office as there are a lot of snooping people around or even your boss might see what you are doing. Earlier I have written about how you can surf websites in Office using a Vanishd. This time, I will tell you about GhostZilla, a browser based on Firefox which can embed itself inside any program or window you are using.

When you run GhostZilla, it will embed itself inside any current open window which can be a folder window, Word window, outlook express window etc. In the screenshot above, it is embedded inside a folder window. The website is completely in black and white and images only appear when you move your mouse over them. When your mouse is away from the window, GhostZilla disappears and can be brought by moving the mouse to left, right and then to the left corner of the screen. To any passerby, it will appear that you are just doing your normal work or reading documents, mails etc. It is based on the Mozilla engine.

The project was removed due to a copyright claim from Mozilla but you can still download it. It can run directly also, without any installation. Do give it a try if you are surfing websites and don’t want your friends or colleagues to know what you are doing.

Download GhostZilla

“New Folder” Option missing from “New” Menu in Windows Vista http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/10/23/new-folder-option-missing-from-new-menu-in-windows-vista/ http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/10/23/new-folder-option-missing-from-new-menu-in-windows-vista/#comments Thu, 23 Oct 2008 08:33:47 +0000 http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/10/23/new-folder-option-missing-from-new-menu-in-windows-vista/ Today when I tried creating a New Folder in Windows Vista, I saw that the option was missing from the right click “New” menu. I tried creating it through the explorer by going to “Organize – New Folder”. This option was there but it was doing nothing. I was able to successfully able to create a folder through DOS but that is not something you prefer.

New Folder fix

I thought that it might be due to a virus but a scan by my anti virus and anti spyware didn’t find anything. So after searching, I was able to find a solution to this problem. Apparently, the reason why this is happening is unknown. to fix the problem, download this file (folderfix_vista.zip) , extract it to your desktop, you will get a .reg file . Right click on that file and select “Merge” in administrator mode and add it to your registry.

After that, simply refresh the desktop 2-3 times and the entry will be back and working.

How to Disable User Account Control (UAC) in Vista http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/10/21/how-to-disable-user-account-control-uac-in-vista/ Tue, 21 Oct 2008 09:03:42 +0000 http://www.whoismadhur.com/2008/10/21/how-to-disable-user-account-control-uac-in-vista/ One of the security features in Vista is the User Account Control (UAC) feature. When ever you try to install a program or any processes try to change the system setting, it displays a prompt through which you can accept or disable the action. This increases the security of the system but can sometime turn out to be annoying if you are trying to install some programs. Here is the simple process of disabling it

Go to Control Panel and type  “uac” in the search box and hit enter. You will get a screen as shown above.

Click on “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off” and deselect the option shown below.

Click Ok and restart the computer and the changes will be applied and you will get rid of those annoying prompts. However, UAC is a security feature so think carefully before disabling it.
