I always leave my computer on and schedule some downloads before I go to sleep. I have found that sometimes, the download manager or the torrent client crashes leaving me pretty pissed off in the morning with unfinished download. Application Monitor is a small windows utility that you can use to monitor your running processes and compare it with the user defined list. If it finds some application is missing, it starts it.
Suppose you are working on the Internet, finding information about some project and you are interrupted for some other work. If you have a lot of tabs open, then you have to save them all in favorites or you can save them in another file. Such things are not very efficient and your Favorites will also contain a lot of entries of something that you might not need later. IESessions is a free Internet Explorer extension which allows you to save your IE sessions quickly. You can them reopen it later and resume from where you were or you can also export it.
Whenever you are installing some applications or games, it will prompt you to close all running programs as they might interfere with the installation process. While Defragmenting and CD Burning, it is better to disable the background programs. Doing so one by one is tough and will take a lot of time while closing as well as starting again.
