Manchester United beat Wigan 4-0 in the League Cup final to win the trophy for the second time in History . As expected Saha was picked above Nistelrooy and he justified his presensce . Wayne Rooney was the hero of the match as he scored 2 goals and made various critical passes and attacks to justify his stature . Wigan were killed in the devastating 2nd half spell of 7 min in which united scored 3 goals .

Well the first week after the minors was quite relaxing , as most of the lectures didnt take place due to some problem or the other , the week was quite enjoyable . HCL also came to our college for placement and so the whole college was quite buzzing with excitement especially the 3rd year . It also reminded me that my turn would be coming soon within a year ( got to improve my CGPA ) . Got my answersheet in maths , got a mere 5/20 . Not bad considering i hate the subject and dont quite remember the integration and calculus stuff i did in 12th . But ok got to improve it also . Started doing Java this week , made a few program and so , quite a good language . Since most of the time i was free got the time to watch few movies

Well Well Well , No one expected it but it has happened . As a Manchester United fan dont expect me to wirte to many good thing for the gunners but they did manage to beat Real Madrid in there 1-0 at the bearnebaou which no other British team had done previously . The only goal of the match was scored by Thierry Henry who showed his skill by beating 2 defenders and whizzing the ball past Iker Casilias . Frankly , The match was dominated by Arsenal for longer periods of the game and they could have scored once or twice more ( glad they didnt ) . Now the second leg at highbury looks promising as Real Madrid will try there best to beat arsenal , and i think they will manage to do it .

In the other Fixtures Benfica recorded a surprise 1-0 win over Liverpool , Lyon beat PSV 1-0 , rangers managed to get a 2-2 draw at home with villareal to keep there Champions league hope alive . In the other main results Barcelona beat Chelsea at stamford bridge 2-1 and as usual Jose Mourinho had someone to blame for the loss , and this time the spear fell on the young and talented barca forward Lionel Messi . Mourinho accused him of acting to get Del Horno sent off for a tackle early on in the game . But the dispite the sending off Chelsea played very well and matched barca for the rest of the game . Wereder Bremen came from 2-1 behind to beat Juventus 3-2 . Ajax squandered a 2 goal lead and drew 2-2 with INTER . With all the games hanging in balance the return fixtures look quite promising and i am hoping for some twist .

The Champions League Knockout round begins today and it brings with it loads of entertaining action from the teams fighting it out to get a place in the quarterfinals . of all the fixtures the matches between Real Madrid Vs Arsenal and Chelsea VS Barcelona are going to be incredible .

Real Madrid Vs Arsenal

The galacticos will be going into this match as favourites as they have a got lot of World class players like Zidane , Raul , Beckham , Robinho , Ronaldo and there current league form has also been good. Arsenal on the other hand have enjoyed a topsy turvy season , there away league form not good , and with the title out of the reach , and being knocked out in the FA cup and Carling Cup , the CL remains there only hope of a silverware . With injuries to there world class defenders Campbell and Ashley cole , there defense will be shaky and Real will look to capitalize on that . Arsenal having sold Patrick Viera to Juventus in the summer have been unable to find an ideal replacement for him and this has been the cause of there bad form this season . The main threat to real will be the striker Thierry Henry who is one of the best in the world . How Ever I expect Real to win it comfortably 2-0 .

Chelsea Vs Barcelona

This game promises to be real entertainer with both team being labeled as European Power Houses and both being Favourites to win the CL . Last season These 2 teams met in the CL Chelsea defeated Barcelona 5-4 on aggregate . So Barcelona would be looking for revenge for that defeat . The Chelsea Team are yet to lost at home in 2 years under the manager Jose Mouriniho . They have got World class players like Lampard , Terry , Robben , Essien . There defensive form has also been solid this season . The Barca team on the other hand includes the World Player Of the Year Ronaldiniho who can single-handedly win the game on his day . Players like Deco , Messi are sure to cause Chelsea some problems . The game promises to be a tight affair and I think it will end at 1-1 .

The various other games include last year champions Liverpool Vs Benfica , Bayern Munich Vs AC Milan who were the last year finalists etc .
