For the past few weeks i havent been able to post regularly on my blog . The reason is that i am a hell lot busy with prepartion for my Campus placement . The placements are going to begin from next week so i wont be able to update this blog or visit other blogs for 8-10 days . So please bear with me and wish me luck ..

Wordpress 2.1 “Ella” has been finally released . Along with 550 bug fixes , it includes any new and cool features . Some of them are

• Autosave makes sure you never lose a post again.
• The new tabbed editor allows you to switch between WYSIWYG and code editing instantly while writing a post.
• The completely redone visual editor also now includes spell checking.
• Redesigned login screen from the Shuttle project.
• The admin has been refreshed to load faster and be more visually consistent.
• A new version of the Akismet plugin is bundled

And lots more …. .

I would be upgrading to it in a short time when i get more info about the compatibility issue with plugins.

Recently while browsing through the help section on Orkut , i saw that they are conducting a poll on which new features to add on Orkut . Most of the features which i would love are listed there . Some of them are

• Set Scrapbook to local time zones . Now this is a feature which everyone will love .Currently i get too much trouble deciphering at what time did my friend scrap me .
• Allow posting more than 12 photos in an album
• Restrict the copy and paste functions on photos
• Allow me to change colors and layout of my profile .This is a feature which i think they should have incorporated long ago ..lets hope they do this now.
• Add Blog features
• Keep profile out of search results .Good for privacy purposes.

I am waiting to see when and what new features will be implemented in Orkut .Hope they do it soon . What features do you want to see in Orkut ?

I am quite excited about this year in terms of gaming . This year we are going to get some big titles , bigger ideas and much more creative games . But we will definately need to spend some big bucks on hardware if we want to enjoy them . Last year mostly games that were released for the PC were basically expansions for the older versions ..so not much creativity last year ..my favourite game of the last year was “COMPANY OF HEROES” , an RTS game set in the WW2 era .If you are a strategy fan , i suggest you give it a try .Anyways coming back to the topic , here i am mentioning some of the games i am looking forward to playing next year .Since i have a PC only and no console , i am not mentioning console games here .

Assassins Creed

This new game from Ubisoft is definately going to keep gamers hooked this year .It features some great AI , a very diffrent gameplay and some great graphics . So watch out , the ASSASSIN is coming. (more…)

Seems like this year is going to be known as the “year of bugs” for us Wordpress users . Just 11 days ago Wordpress 2.0.6 was releases to fix a security issue and now another is out to deal with a bug in certain versions of PHP which can cause a security vulnerability . So it is recommended that you upgrade to ver 2.0.7

But it is good to see that they have fixed the bug very quickly . Lets hope we dont see anymore before Wordpress 2.1 comes out ..
