BitTorrent to launch Movie , TV Shows Download

BitTorrent Inc. is launching a site that will sell downloads of films and TV Shows licensed from the studios . Films from Warner Bros . , Paramout Pictures , 20th Century Fox ,MGM etc and TV Shows such as ‘24′ , ‘Punk’d’ will be included . The service is basically aimed at users who use BitTorrent to trade pirated movies and shows .

”The vast majority of our audience just loves digital content,” Ashwin Navin, president and co-founder of BitTorrent, told The Associated Press. ”Now we have to program for that audience and create a better experience for that content so the audience converts to the service that makes the studios money.”

TV Episoded will be priced at $1.99 to own which is very much similar to the rates of Apple’s ITunes . The new site will rent movies for a 24-hour viewing period for $3.99 for new titles and $2.99 for older films but the movies will not be sold as the prices demanded by the studios are too high .

Still i dont see it making a much diffrence to the pirated market . Who would want to pay money for such stuff when they can get it for free .

Quantum to sue Apple over iPhone now

Recently Apple settled its dispute with Cisco over the use of the ‘iPhone’ name but now it seems they are going to run into more trouble with the UK based touch sensor manufacturer Quantum Research . The firm has threatened to sue apple if it finds that Apple has infringed on its touch screen patent and they are examing the iPhone for the same .

The description of the iPhone suggests that it uses a real surface touch screen and has proximity sensing which can tell whether the phone is being held to the ear or not , which is a Quantum research capability .Now if Apple is using the charge transfer technology to give the phone that capability , it would be infringing the firm’s patent .

  • MSN Soapbox public beta out

Microsoft has now released the public beta of its video upload service called Soapbox which is seen as a rival to Google’s YouTube service Last year , the beta version of the product was introduced to the customers thorugh the invitation-only basis but now it is open to all.

Soapbox is a part of Windows Live service and allows its users to upload , share, discover there personal music videos with the other members of the soapbox community . The advantages of using the service are that it provides the user with single step uploading, background video processing , acceptance of all major video formats , RSS feed and you can also rate , comment on other videos if you are a member . It also allows a user to simaltaneously browse for videos while watching one in the same screen .

Personally i dont see it as a major rival to you-tube but with Microsoft offering a variety of diffrent services through windows live , who knows what might happen one day .

  • ManHunt 2 promotion - highly innovative

Manhunt was one of the most violent games ever made . The object of the game was to kill people in diffrent type of ways using glass shard , Baseball Bat , guns ,plastic etc . Now the sequel is about to come out and Rockstar are using a new way to promote it .They are sending out letters to various websites and reviewers containing bloody medical bracelets and a letter that read :

Enclosed are Danny Lamb and Leo Kasper’s ID bracelets found discarded after last night’s incident. This is the only potentially damning evidence we have found so far. I trust every possible precaution will be taken to ensure that any records relating to these patients are destroyed.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We are all too aware that both subjects pose a highly serious threat to society, let alone the very existence of “The Project.” Both patients suffer sever psychotic episodes characterized by intense paranoia, involuntary psychotic reactions, delusional hallucinations and acute schizophrenic disorders..
We HAVE to track them down.

    - Dr. Whyte
Now thats innovative ….lets c how the game turns out to be .
