If you use the default Windows Add/Remove Programs option from the Control Panel to uninstall your program, chances are that sometimes you will get an error or even after the uninstall, directories and registry entries will remain. Revo Uninstaller is a freeware application that is a very good alternative for the default Windows Add/Remove.
It can be used to remove unwanted programs from the computer and it will work even in the case of a broken installations. It is also much more faster, and using its fast algorithm, it analyses the application data both before an uninstall and scans after removing the application. After the uninstall, unnecessary files, folders, registry entries which remain can also be removed. In case of a broken installation, it will scan for the application’s data on the hard drive and will show all the files, folder found related to it which we can remove.
The interface is very simple and easy to use. It will display a list of currently installed applications, you just have to select the application and uninstall it. Some of its other handy features are
-
An Auto Start Manager to manage the application that automatically start on windows startup
-
A Junk File remover that will remove the unnecessary junk files
-
A Browse History and Office History cleaner to erase web history and most recently opened MS Office documents history
-
An Evidence Remover to make sure that the uninstalled programs are unrecoverable
Overall, the best alternative to Add/Remove Programs with a lot of handy features. It is also a freeware and is 1.5 Mb in size.
This is definitely a better alternative to regular windows uninstaller.

I’ve tested this one previously and concur that this one is really a superior alternative to the lame, slow Windows Add/Remove tool.
