eNewss – An Indian Blog Aggregator
By Madhur Kapoor on Aug 10, 2008 in Featured, Web Service
eNewss is an Indian Blog Aggregator service that keeps tracks of the Indian Blogs. It is a service created by Sridhar Kondoji and its motto is to ’ Bridge Indian Blogger’s Globally’. Indian users can submit there blogs to various categories which include Technology, Entertainment, Personal, Recipe, Sports as well as regional categories such as Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Telgu and Gujrati blogs. The blog gets generally accepted within 24 hours. After the blog is accepted, eNewss will keep track of the blog’s feed and will display the posts from the blog with a headline and a short description.
The main page of the Website displays the categories and the title of the various post within each category. Opening a category will display you the blog headlines along with date stamps and description with the author’s name/avatar at the side. Users can also perform the search on the database for blogs and posts for a certain topic. Apart from this, the site also has social networking characteristics. Users can create there own profiles, send friend requests to other members, comment on other’s post, create and join groups. This way they can interact with their fellow bloggers from around India and get to know each other.
Though the interface is clean and simple, a few categories were displayed there which didn’t have any blogs added to them. It would be better if such categories are only added to homepage when there is a blog added to it. Also the search of the database is not as fast as your would expect. And a few more categories can also be added such as Blogging, Gaming etc. Rest apart, this is a great service by eNewss to help you interact with your fellow bloggers, grow your social community, and at the same time, search for the information in a single place in an efficient manner. So what are you waiting for, Click here to join .
Great service to get blog known soon. Good for new blogs.

Hi Madhur,
I appreciate you reviewing enewss.com an indian blog aggregator.
In an earlier avatar of enewss, we had almost 1500+ blogs and we were able to sub-divide categories further. In the new avatar which we launched less than a month ago has fewer blogs and hence diferring the idea sub-division of higher level categories. Yes, this is something on our radar and will be implemented as and when feasible.
I would like all bloggers give it a try and see for yourself how enewss can create oppurtunities for all of us. There is a plan in place for next two years and iam slowly executing on them.
When we first implemented a blog aggregator displaying all latest blog posts on main page, we had to go though a long learning curve and it blocks at several levels. While we were learning the issues hard way, we also bonded together with several bloggers and used their feedback. Once we got our facts straight, the next level to move on was to add social networking features.
The next level is to leverage bloggers, human editors to highlight quality blogs and give them more exposure to the readers.
Let us see how things go for enewss in near terms.
We already few cheerleaders who are vigorously working to pool together recipe bloggers. We also recently stumbled on a young blogger who actually came forward to help us give lead at kerela blog camp this month and help us grow membership wise.
It looks like we are having fun this time around as we are marching ahead.
Hope you all will support us in our endeavours and give us your impartial feedback which will help us grow stronger.
Thanks

I used to be one of the initial members of that community, but lost touch when I was out of station for a week. I have even suggested some cool ideas to Sridhar.
He has done a great work…

Hi DigitalMail,
Thank you for becoming enewss member. I approved your blog. Regarding Malayalam not showing up properly, it must be that your browser doesn’t have needed fonts to display the malayalam characters.
Thanks
