Download Files in Firefox with DownThemAll Firefox Extension
By Madhur Kapoor on Aug 21, 2008 in FireFox Extensions
If you are type of a person who downloads a lot of things such as mp3, pdf, etc etc, then the default download manager of Firefox will not be much of a help. That is where DownThemAll comes in handy. It is free Firefox download manager extension that makes download management easy and convenient and also has some nice features which can save you a lot of time.
It can even download files in batches, pause/resume download as well as queue up files for downloading them later. If you right click on a web page and select “DownThemAll” from the menu, it will present a list of all the possible downloads from that page whether they are video, html, images etc. The best thing is that you can create your own filters that will automatically select your type of files from the long list. For example, you can create a filter for “*.ppt” and it will only select the links from the list that are powerpoint presentations. Then you just have to press the start button to begin the downloads. You can also select the names and download location for the files you are going to download.
There is also an option in right menu called ‘dTaOneClick’ which will start downloading all the links of the current webpage that will match the filters used in the last dTa session. Overall, it is must have Firefox addon even if you rarely download anything as it is much better than the default download option.
Hi Five to Shanky for recommending me this.
I use Free Download Manager. This one seems good too. Thanks for the heads up
