FreeDrive - Online Storage with Social Networking
By Madhur Kapoor on Oct 16, 2008 in Web Service
There are a lot of online services for file storage such as SugarSync, Dropbox etc. FreeDrive is another such service but it is a bit different due to its social networking nature. It is especially for people who use sites such as Myspace and Facebook.
The site offers you 1 GB free for online storage. If you want more, you have to go for a paid package. You have the option of keeping your files private, share with friends or make it public. There is a Facebook app which allows you to share your files with your Facebook friends easily. There are a lot of communities around it and you can also search for files with file tags.
The 1 GB of free storage is very less considering you get a lot more from Windows Skydrive or Dropbox. I would still prefer Dropbox as my choice but this one is good if you have got social networking in mind.
The social networking feature makes it unique… Also, there is another web os service you might have heard g.ho.st, which provides upto 5 gb and that increase with referrals.
