You may sometimes be amazed to find how much Duplicates Files are there in a computer. Over the course of our computer usage, we download and save a lot of things, sometimes we make an extra copy of it to be safe. Then we forget all about them. This is quite common in case of music files. Duplicate Cleaner is a freeware program that can identify Duplicate Files in a a location and then can move, delete or clone the duplicate files.
It lets you search for duplicate files using a variety of parameters such as CRC value, file name, file size, date or any combination of these. You can also specify if you want to search for files for a particular extension. After the results are displayed, you can perform a lot of operations on it. You can export/import the result, move the files, delete files. You can also create hard-links in NTFS enabled drives. That means both your duplicates files will be there but they will point to the same thing and will not occupy twice space. You can use it search for music files by reading the audio tags, artist, title, same album or a combination. The User Interface is simple and easy to use. The result also displays a list of files whose size are zero. It protects and doesn’t scan system files by default.
Though utilities for removing duplicate files are provided with a lot of other software, the features it provides makes it worth the download. It works on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP.
