Speed Up Windows Alt-Tab with VistaSwitcher



VistaSwitcher is an elegant and powerful task management utility for Windows OS. The application replaces the default Windows Alt-Tab dialog with a nice box that shows a list of all running tasks with their names and preview snapshots and enables the user to take actions on them using the mouse and keyboard shortcuts. If you are not too happy with the new Alt-Tab interface of Windows Vista and 7, you can give this a try.

You can call VistaSwitcher by pressing the Alt-Tab combination or any other key combination which can be configured. It displays a more enhanced and stylish version of the Alt-Tab dialog which has some new features. It display a list of the currently running tasks and provides a mouse-over preview that shows the task window on your desktop, as well as right-click options to switch, minimize, maximize, restore the main window or close the process. It offers Live window and desktop previews under Windows Vista and 7. The small application supports dual monitors also and almost all of its functionality can be configured. You can even hide the tasks from the list that you don’t want to display.

The program is a freeware and runs on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It is currently in beta and may have some issues.

  1. Ok, I agree that this is a cool effect, nice interface. But still I will stick to the Alt + Tab.
