virtualStudio is a Full Featured Photo Editor

virtualStudio is a free photo editor which has a lot of features along with plugins support. If you are not too keen on using Photoshop and is looking for a good free graphics editor, this one is certainly good. It also supports Photoshop plugins and filters thereby allowing you to extend its functionality.

The freeware supports around 30 popular image formats. You can quickly retouch and enhance your photos using the image enhancements features it provides. Some of its basic features allows you to modify the sharpness, contrast, white balance, red eye removal, gamma correction etc. Photoshop filters can also be added to extend its functionality. It also lets you add frames to your pictures along with a watermark. Some of its features include


  • Easily applies layered effects with “Blend” mode
  • Image Browser with full-screen slideshow
  • Shadows and highlights
  • Resize using Lanczos, Mitchell, Bicubic
  • Edit IPTC information and view EXIF
  • Connect to your scanner or camera

The program is a freeware and works on Windows 98,2000,XP and Vista.

      Wow all these features and free! So, is it as heavy as Photoshop and as powerful too, or is it something you would use for the easy stuff having Photoshop installed for the rest?

      It is not as powerful as photoshop but it is good for those who do the easy stuff only and don’t need something as big as photoshop
