Optimize Usage and Performance of Laptop Battery with BatteryCare
BatteryCare is a freeware which can optimize the usage and performance of the laptop battery. It monitors the battery’s discharge cycles and helps increasing it’s autonomy and improving it’s lifetime. The freeware is very light on resources and can give you a lot of information about your laptop’s battery.
It monitors the Battery’s discharge cycle and its algorithm accurately records when a complete discharge cycle is performed. The small utility shows all the detailed information about the battery, such as wear level, capacities, consumption, manufacturer etc. It can also calculate the statistical remaining time in laptops that don’t support the battery time left information.
It can automatically disable the Aero feature in Vista as it can degrade battery time and it can also re enable the same once the system stops running on batteries. Depending on the power source of the computer, it can automatically select the Power Plan of our preference. The program quietly sits in the system tray and it has got a very simple interface.
The program is a freeware and runs on Windows 2000 and above and requires .Net Framework 2.
This would be good for frequent fliers. In my case I have put my lappy in full performance mode as I don’t need much power consumption as I always run it on power.
Hey,
Good find. I’ve recently bought a Samsung N110 Netbook. Samsung has bundled a software called Samsung Battery Manager 2.0.
Any idea whether this software would have a conflict with Samsung’s software?
Sammy’s software allow me to prolong the batt’s performance so I don’t want to do away with it.
Let me know if you have any idea.
Regards,
DJ
