TweakUI was a very famous tweaking utility for Windows XP but there was no such similar utility for Windows Vista. Ultimate Windows Tweaker is tweaking utility for Windows Vista and it can be rightly called as “Tweak UI for Vista”. It allows you to customize Windows Vista with over 130 changes.

Many of us must have disabled the default Windows Vista UAC on our system due to its irritating nature. Even though it is a good security measure to have User Account Panel, no ones likes to get disturbed for simple actions. But since there are a lot of malicious programs that can harm our system, disabling UAC creates a security risk. Smart UAC is very nice alternative to Vista’s default UAC. It replaces your Vista’s UAC with something that is more secure, configurable and less irritating.

Today when I tried creating a New Folder in Windows Vista, I saw that the option was missing from the right click “New” menu. I tried creating it through the explorer by going to “Organize – New Folder”. This option was there but it was doing nothing. I was able to successfully able to create a folder through DOS but that is not something you prefer.

This is an interesting hack for Vista through which you can enable “Slow Motion” animation that will work if you are holding the “shift” key while minimizing , maximizing , closing a window.
This will work if you can run the Windows Aero glass theme . To make this work , just download this file . Unzip it and duble click it to add it to the Windows Registry . Two new values will be added to the registry . Just restart and the effect will be visible . …

I have been using Windows Vista for 3 months now and one error that has always annoyed me is the “COM Surrogate Error ” . This error generally occurs when you open a folder thaty contains a lot of media files . The error is

You can launch your favourite applications in Vista using a combination of ‘[Windows] key + number ‘ . All you have to do is to add the shortcut to applications that you want to start in the Quick Launch Toolbar . You can do this by a simple drag & Drop operation . You can have a maximum of 10 shortcuts there , by default you are provided there with a “Show Desktop ” and “Switch Between Windows” shortcuts .
