When you buy a new computer, it is better to test it under stress or heavy load condition to check whether it can perform or not. HeavyLoad is a free application that will stress all the resources of the computer like CPU, memory, hard disk, os etc to check how it performs under these conditions.

For this, HeavyLoad writes a large test-file to the temp folder, it allocates physical and virtual memory, performs complex calculations and it draws patterns in its window. During the test, a chart is displayed showing CPU usage, free memory but you won’t get any report after the test. If your computer didn’t crash or hand during the test, then you can say that it passed the test.

Though it is not a full fledged diagnostic application, you can use it for a quick test of your CPU. It is a free application.
