Capture.NET is a free and multifunctional desktop utility. Its developers call it the Swiss Army Knife of PC Tools and rightly so as it contains many useful utilities all bundled into a single application. The program does a lot of useful things and after trying it out, I am very happy with its use.

Let me tell about all the features that it contains

• Capture Screenshots – It allows you to take screenshots of full screen, isolated windows or a specific region. You even get a zoomed view of the screen to help you with the capture
• Image Editor – It even comes with a basic image editor which allows you to perform simple operations on the image like Crop, Rotate, convert pictures to ASCII, add simple effects etc
• Privacy Eraser – This is a useful tool which allows you to clean your temp files, recycle bin, cookies, temporary internet files, log files, browser history etc

  

• Color Picker – This is quite useful for web designers as it allows you to pick any color of the screen

  

• Backup Expert – It allows you to backup your mail, Internet Explorer favorites and feeds
• File Converter – This allows you to convert between various image formats
• Font Viewer – It allows you to view text in any font

There are a lot of other features like Post-it notes, Screen Clock, YouTube and file downloader, Windows Spy, Reveal Password, File Manager etc. There is a free and a pro version with extra features. The pro version costs around $15. It requires .Net Framework and works in Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7.
