Sometimes the avi video files get corrupted and you are unable the view the video due to a bad index file. DivFix++ is a free and open source program that can repair those Avi files by rebuilding the Index part of the file thus fixing the problem. It is also very useful when trying to preview movies which has no index part.

The usage of the program is very simple. Just drag and drop the corrupted Avi files into the main window or you can also add video files through the File browser. Click on “Check Errors” button and the video file will be scanned and the errors will be reported in the log window. To fix those files, just select or add the output path for the files and click on “Rebuild Index” button. This will fix your Avi files and they can be played again. You can also make it Cut out bad parts from the files. You can also strip the index before rebuilding it for better results. Errors can also be logged for future analysis.

The program is free, open source and requires no installation. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux.
