Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor. If you are looking for an alternative to Adobe Illustrator with nice features, Inkscape is worth checking out. Though it doesn’t have all the advanced features that you will find in Illustrator, if you are a basic user looking for a decent vector graphics editing program, this is a good alternative.

The program offers a wide range of basic vector graphics editing capabilities using which you can create web graphics, technical diagrams, icons, creative art, logos, maps, and other illustrations. Its user interface may seem a bit complex at first use, but you will eventually get used to it. It also supports layers, charts & graphs, shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, patterns, and object grouping.
