USB Safeguard is a freeware using which you can password protect your files inside USB Drives. Only the person having the required password will be able to decrypt the files and access them. This way, even if you lose your USB drive somewhere, you will be pretty much secure. The program uses the secure AES 256 bits algorithm for file encryption.

The program requires no installation and you must copy the program to your USB drive and run it from there.The program can run on any USB drive but at present, it supports USB drives of up to 16GB capacity. On running the program from the USB drive, the program will ask you to enter the password which it will use to Encrypt/Decrypt the files. Only the people having the correct password will be able to access the files. Apart from that, it also has a built in file shredder which can remove the contents of the original pre encrypted file to give you some more protection.

If you use your Pen Drive to carry some sensitive documents with you, it is better to use this program to keep them protected. The program is portable and the free version supports FAT 16, FAT 32 and NTFS file systems. It runs on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
